First stage sediment cartridge is a durable pleated polyester which is washable 3-4 times before replacement. This pleated filter cartridge has a larger surface area to maximize its dirt-holding capacity, so cartridge cleaning & changes are less frequent. Second stage carbon cartridge reduces chlorine, taste and odour, and is resistant to bacterial attack.
